Earth
Co-operative Initiative:
There are
thousands of individuals and groups around the world who see substantial
environmental damage first hand. And there are many others who have a
valid viewpoint on how to address global issues or regional problems.
Although none of them view it this way, they are all lining up to do all
of us a favour and yet they are forced into a submissive position, and
have to beg for the means to do us this favour. This needs to change, and
it will change. People have to start understanding just who is doing who a
favour in this little corner of our society.
There are literally
tens of billions of dollars expended annually on environmental action all
over the world. At the present time there is absolutely no co-ordination.
The majority is expended on action that is either superfluous, such as
conducting research and studies that have been done a hundred times
before, or action that is haphazard and almost completely useless in
addressing the big picture.
There are many reasons for this and
qualification would only sound like criticism when none would be intended.
The bottom line is that people have their own views on what’s important,
and will conduct themselves according to what will achieve the best
outcome for them and their goals, and in this regard we are all the same.
Co-ordination is the biggest issue here. The Earth Co-operative Initiative will act in concert with the
other H3 organizations to conduct a co-ordinated attack on our
problems. The ECI’s function is to provide funding to individuals and
organizations who can make a major contribution to the big picture, either
in their own right, or as a single element in a larger plan with hundreds
of others; in direct environmental action, envirotechs, or any other type
of action we can see will make a difference.
After it is
established, funding the micro-environmental action and co-ordinating it
with the other H3 organizations will be the primary function of
the ECI, but in its formative stages, the focus will be on identifying
pro-active individuals that have different views on how to address our
environmental problems, and giving them the means to create and grow
roughly parallel, but completely separate organizations of their own and
beholden to nobody, not even H3.
This is one of more than a dozen significant organizations that will operate under the H3 banner.
